Anjali the Tamil actress who tasted the success with the flick Angadi Theru directed by Vasantha Balan is making her way to enter in mollywood. She has been approached to perform the lady lead for the flick titled, ‘PAYYANS’.

She is the lady love for Jayasuriya in this Malayalam flick. The movie and the actress are much awaited by the mollywood viewers after seeing her performance in her earlier tamil flick Angadi Theru. The character roles i.e., the father and mother roles are performed by Lal and Rohini. They are the parents of Jayasuriya in this flick.

Jayasuriya is a simple young RJ having no big aims in his life as per the script. The pooja of the movie was held last week at Sarovaram, Kochi. This anticipated flick is produced by Naushad Kammu Vadakkan under the banner of Kammu Vadakkan films. While Anjali is teaming up with Jaysuriya, another popular television face Akhila has bagged a big role as the heroine to Dileep in his new movie ‘Kaaryasthan’. So the performances of these two new entries are much awaited by the mollywood viewers.

Kareena Kapoor is the only female lead in Rohit Shetty's Golmaal-3  (if you don't count Ratna Pathak, that is), and buzz is that Bebo had laid down this condition before coming on board the male-dominated comic flick.


The flip side to this is that she will be the only one providing the oomph factor to the otherwise arid landscape. And though her character is of a girl who has verbal diarrohea (like a Sholay ki Basanti), the title track of the film has her trademark sizzle.

Now, we hear that the actor has once again the similar role in his upcoming film ‘Naan Mahan Alla’. Yes, the actor plays the role of a professional call taxi driver. It can be recalled that previously, Rajnikanth had performed the same role in ‘Padikadhavan’.

We believe that Karthi isn’t trying to become a mass hero just like Vijay and others so as to grab the attention of such professional cohorts.

He has almost completed shooting for ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ with a 15-day schedule left for the patch-up works. On the pars, he’s vividly working on the other film that happens to be a remake of yesteryear Telugu blockbuster ‘Vikramakudu’.

Things are getting bewildered with the racy Pongal season awaited head. This morning, we got to hear the fact that Vishal’s ‘Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai’ has been postponed from Pongal and now Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Goa’ joins the list as well.

So, it’s all about Selvaraghavan’s ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ and Dhanush starrer ‘Kutty’ that’ll be making it ways for Pongal. Buzzes are that the teasers and promos of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ have changed the entire situation.

Much prior to screening the film’s teasers, expectations were pretty little which apparently exceeded the extremum after the juncture. Consequently, the business has gradually peaked-up high with ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ and trade analysts have predictable favorable results for this film. On pars, Dhanush’s ‘Kutty’ will be a grand fare since the duo (Dhanush and Jawahar) has already done a good job with ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’. It’s noteworthy that Dhanush’s previous film ‘Padikadhavan’ happens to be one of the biggest grosser at box office in 2009.

As in co-incident, it can be marked that Dhanush was supposed to perform a meaty role opposite Karthi in ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’. But now, we’ll have the perfect contestation between these biggies for Pongal

Manisha Koirala is all set to marry Nepal-based businessman Samrat Dahal on June 19th, says sources. The actress is eagerly awaiting the release of her next film Ek Second Jo Zindagi Badal De, which is directed by Partho Gosh, on June 4th.

According to sources close to the actress, she would prefer to shuttle between India and Nepal after the wedding as she has homes in both the countries.

Manisha had acted in scores of Hindi films and was seen in a couple of Tamil films alongside popular heroes like Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Arjun and Arvind Swamy.

Manisha Koirala joins Dhanush

Manisha Koirala, who stole many a hearts in Tamil films like Bombay, Indian and Mudhalvan is shooting in Chennai after a long gap. She is in Chennai with the unit of ‘Mappillai’ which is a remake of the 1989 super hit starring Rajinikanth by the same name.

Manisha Koirala is playing Dhanush’s proud mother-in-law in the film which was played by Sri Vidya in original. The film is directed by Suraaj and produced by Sun Pictures. Manisha was finalized for the role after Sridevi and Jayapradha refused. Even Tabu was tried at a later stage. Manisha’s last film in Tamil was ‘Baba’ which also has a Rajini connection.

Hansika Motwani plays the heroine played by the beautiful Amala in the original.

The 1989 super hit ‘Mappillai’ is one of the evergreen films of Rajinikanth. It was a remake of Chiranjeevi starrer in Telugu ‘Athaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu’. Interestingly, it was Chiranjeevi who produced the first remake in Tamil with the super star.

Manisha Koirala to make a comeback in Bollywood

Manisha Koirala is about to make a comeback to films with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film, My Friend Pinto. This film, like their earlier film together, will have a Catholic setup.

Meanwhile, Manisha is back from the US after spending time with her boyfriend, Chris. But movies still remain her first love. She admits to having wanted to work with Sanjay for a while now but was waiting for the right part. She doesn’t want to do just five-scene, two-song roles. After working on Deepti Naval’s film, Do Paise Ki Dhoop Char Aane Ki Baarish, she’s desperate to do challenging roles. Manisha will soon also be working with Yash Raj Films and Raj Kumar Santoshi.

Manisha’s next plan is to lose weight before she makes a public appearance. She is now looking forward to a new beginning.

When whole lot of yesteryear beauties of film industry has been related with Dhanush’s ‘Mappillai’ as mother-in-law, here’s another excitement. Bollywood’s red-hot Manisha Koraila seems to be included in the finalists’ league now.

Last evening, actor Dhanush had hosted a press meet for a media interaction regarding his recent release ‘Kutty’. On this occasion, the actor revealed that it will take some more time to establish a prominent position in main league of actors in Kollywood. When asked about the delayed reason of ‘Aadukalam’, Dhanush said, “The film requires lots of preproduction works and director Vetrimaaran has spend nearly a year to record the happening day-to-day lifestyle of Madurai.”

So, what about his mother-in-law in ‘Mappillai’? The actor didn’t reveal much about it as he said that director has approached various actresses including Manisha Koraila and soon they’ll finalize the deal.

Pia had acted in Poi Solla Porom, Aegan and Goa. She is currently pairing with Vishnu in the film Bale Pandiya. Pia while speaking to the media recently said,” I am from a place called Idava in Uttar Pradesh. I have studied up to12th standard. My two sisters are teacher. My father wanted me to do become a teacher. But my dream was to act in films. I told them a lie that I have got a chance to act in TV serials and came to Mumbai. After lot of efforts I got the chance to dub for TV serials.”

Adding more, she said, “I also got the chance to act. I also participated in the interview held for selection of actresses. At that time I got the introduction of Priyadarshan and because of this I got the opportunity to do the female lead role in Poi Solla Porom directed by Vijay. I am currently acting in Bale Pandiya and am pairing with Vishnu. This film is a full length comedy film. I am interested in doing bubbly role, serious role and village girl role which has scope for acting. If the story demands I am ready to wear bikini dress. When I acted in Aegan I liked Ajith’s loving talks. I love his character.”

Piya replaces Pooja in ‘Goa’

Looks like actress Pooja isn't really bent on Tamil projects now. With 'Naan Kadavul' over, the actress is busy completing her Sinhalese projects. And has so opted out of director Venkat Prabhu's 'Goa'. The film is being produced by Ocher Studios, and has Premji Amaran, Vaibhav, Jai and Arvind Aakash in the lead.

Pooja was originally signed up in the film to play Jai's love interest. But after the actress opted out of the project, director Venkat Prabhu was on the lookout for a heroine. And it looks like Piya, the girl who acted in 'Poi Solla Porom', has replaced the actress.

'Goa' is said to be a film in the genre of 'American Pie', and the crew has already completed shooting two schedules of the film. The film already has two more heroines, Juliana Fine and Sneha.

Director Mani Ratnam’s latest movie Ravan has been in news since the time he announced it. First the director decided to shoot amidst the beautiful jungles in Kerala and now he has shifted base to Jhansi in Madhya Pradesh.
He has just finished shooting for a big-budget song sequence featuring Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan along with 500 dancers.
The song Kaata Kaata Maara Maara has been composed by Oscar nominee A R Rahman and has been penned by Gulzar. It will serve as Abhishek’s introductory song in the movie. Read the full story

    Ravana, the magnum project is a culmination of award winning director Mani Ratnam whose name is nothing less than an epitome of class in Indian cinema and A.R. Rehman’s mesmerizing music that needs no introduction. The film will deliver an entertainment par excellence and the hype created around it is just an understatement. Ravana the film has an amazing star cast (Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai) and the film has an equally different story line and is said to be a contemporary take on Ramayana but definitely with lots of twists and U-turns.

The story of Raavan revolves around Abhishek Bachchan playing the title role of Ravana whose sister suffers humiliation at the hands of Vikram, the south star. To seek revenge he kidnaps Vikram’s
wife played by Aishwarya Rai and elopes in the woods later to fall in love. Govinda enters the story just a Hanuman to help Vikram find his wife and Ravi Kissan is Abhishek’s trusted friend in the movie. Isn’t it Ramayana with lot of new twists? Well what happens next is a thing to explore at cinemas when the movie releases.

Meanwhile Ravana movie trailer has been released and it is a 40 seconds trailer showing Abhishek dive from top of a cliff into a river and then riding a bike with a petrifiedAishwarya Rai behind him. Ravana the movie will be released in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Written by Mani Ratnam himself the story promises to be one of its kinds.The film is a big budget bonanza with beautiful songs written by Gulzar Sahab and well composed by A.R. Rehman.

The audio of the film Ravana will be released on 24th April and the rights have been bought by T-Series for the same. The film promos will be available on YouTube. The airing of songs on radio channels is due to start form 23rd April. The die hard Ash-Abhi fans or we can say Mani-Rehman fans get to see Ravana in theatres on 18th June. Ravana: Blankets, Umbrellas for Ash's security
Director Mani Ratnam and his crew are keen in taking maximum effort to keep actress Aishwarya
away from the prying eyes of fans and media. It is said that Aishwarya dons the role of Sita in Ravana and Mani Ratnam does not want to expose a single frame with costume. It is his usual practice not to release any pictures of his movies before the release. Other than the crew and artistes, nobody is allowed to enter or idle in the premises, even though curious spectators want to have a glimpse of Aishwarya. It is reported that she reports on location in the costume of a Tamil Brahmin lady.

Since the shooting is in a forest area, no cars could reach the site and they need to travel in jeeps. Arriving in cars, the stars get into jeeps for the final journey to the shooting spot. Even at this changeover point, Aishwarya is covered with a blanket or umbrella. The security staff covers her jeep with bedsheets. The security is so strict that there is no chance for a view. Aishwarya and Abhishek are staying in a resort beside the Aathirapilly waterfalls.
